About..

Dr Rachel Hasler is a soil microbial ecologist and microbiologist. With a strong background in agricultural and horticultural soil management.

Rachel completed her PhD in association with the Royal Horticultural Society and has studied and worked at various positions in the agricultural industry and institutions including Wageningen University (NL), Cranfield University and Aberystwyth University.

Research interests include:

Soil quality monitoring and sustainable soil management

Soil microbial functions, such as carbon cycling, and associated interactions with agricultural, horticultural, and arboricultural land management

Soil microbial functional resilience and climate change feedbacks

Science communication methods and class, race, and gender based barriers to STEM education engagement and accessibility
